31/365 - White Trash Gymboree

My nephew wears a lot of Gymboree clothing, while we were babysitting tonight, his diaper leaked, and we didn't have any extra clothing, so we rigged up an outfit out of my sister-in-laws old t-shirt she forgot here and a couple rubber bands.  He loved it and didn't even realize that he was the white trash version of Gymboree!

This is the view from the back.

He even held it up like a little gentleman when he walked!  :-)

30/365 - Home Sweet Home

Daniel and I finally returned home after two weeks in Illinois with my dad.  It was great to see my little bubbies, Rafferty, Sophie, and Bella!  I was hoping to take pictures of both my dad's house and our house to post, but didn't get that done.  The only picture I took today was of a giant mouse in the Wisconsin Dells at a cheese store I bought some onion cheese from.

29/365 - Life is Good!

My dad completed his cancer treatment today.  When we went to pick him up from the hospital, the nurses gave him a sweatshirt that had "Life is Good" on the front.  He was also given a certificate stating that he had completed his treatment.  Now it is a waiting game to see if everything was successful.  But for today, life is good!

28/365 - Showtime!

Daniel and I went to the movies this afternoon to see Sherlock Holmes.  Daniel really liked it, I thought it was okay.  Not really my type of movie.  Oh well, it helped us pass the time.

They did have some cool things at the theater,  a tray to help hold your drinks and snacks.  I think it is great especially if you are a single adult with a couple children.  More theaters should have them.

They also had loveseats in the theater, I thought that was pretty cool.  I have never seen that before.

In honor the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie, they had four foot high statues in the lobby of the three chipmunks.

27/365 - Killing Time

Daniel and I drove to Racine, WI today to sit around the Barnes and Noble for a couple hours.  It is the geek in us that we LOVE Barnes and Noble and no matter where we travel, we have to make it to at least one bookstore!

26/365 - All About Me!

Today was a pretty lazy day and I didn't take any pictures.  Here is the best I could come up with!

25/365 - At the Lakes!

We stopped by Lake Michigan when we were out and about today.  The wind really whipped right through me when I was standing out there for the two minutes it look to take the picture.

24/365 - The Creative Touch

At the University of Chicago Medical Center, they have a wall of art by children.  I loved it, what a great way to add feeling in a long hallway that you have to walk through to get from the parking garage to the hospital.

Also, please note the Michael Jackson picture, too cute!   I love looking at children's drawings.

23/365 - Where Everybody Knows Your Name

On the way to my dad's house, there is this sad little bar that I am surprised that it is still in business each time we visit.  I don't know the name of it, but for over ten years it has been in business.

It used to sit out in the middle of nowhere, all alone, but now at least there is a CVS across the street.

Update:  I asked my dad and the bar's name is Fritz's.  Kind of fitting name for the odd little bar.

22/365 - Drip, Drip, Drip, Drip....

One of the new things I have learned is how to hook up an IV.  I can flush the port, prime the line and all that jazz.  Thankfully, no needles are involved on my end!  This is the IV I hooked up for my dad tonight.

21/365 - Yeah Feet!

After seeing my sister's picture of Camden's feet, I decided to do my own version.  Here are my dad's feet as he sits in his rocking chair with his feet elevated.  Yeah FEET!

20/365 - Mr Liberty

A couple of days ago when I was driving down the street of Zion, IL, there was a gentleman hip hop dancing like nobodies business on the side of the road.  I cracked up laughing while I sat at the red light.  I know it was cold out and he was most likely doing it to keep warm, but it still made me laugh.

After I drove off, I thought about how that would have been a great picture for my 365.  My luck was good today because when we stopped at Walgreens, Mr Liberty was in the parking lot, dancing and handing out his flyers for Liberty Tax Service.  He offered me one, I accepted, compliemtned him on his dancing, and asked for a picture.

Presenting Mr Liberty 2010!

19/365 - Second Hospital in Two Days!

My dad had his follow up visit with his doctor at the University of Chicago Medical Center.  We spent the afternoon sitting around waiting...and waiting...and waiting...to see the doctor.  It is amazing how big that place is and also very sad to see all of the other people battling cancer.  It really puts into perspective how lucky we are if we haven't battled with a serious illness.

It was amazing to see so many people, young, old, black, white and everything in between waiting to see these specialists.

Since I spent the day at the hospital, I took some pictures while we were waiting, this was the view out of the hospital waiting room.

Downtown Chicago in the distance.

18/365 - And the winner is....

Ketchup April 2007!!  My daughterly duties inspired me to make some banana cream pudding for my dad today.  When I opened the fridge to make room, it turned into a full blown decontruction.  I threw out three bags of food (Shay you had some moldy veggies in there too!).  The oldest item was a bottle of ketchup from 2007.

Granted, I did catch him in a weak moment, because he didn't complain one time or even tell me that stuff was still good like he has in the past.

Now we have a happy fridge, even the orange juice is smiling!!

17/365 - What a Welcome!

How did I spend my first night in Illinois?  At the hospital.  Thankfully, my dad is okay.  Hopefully, he will be released tomorrow.  Note to self, the doctors at Vista SUCK!

16/365 - Cheesehead

We traveled to Illinois to spend time with my dad.  One of the stops we always make is in the Wisconsin Dells.

You know you are in Wisconsin when you start seeing cheese signs.

I also took this picture of the lighted up dashboard.  I liked the effect...a blurry but bright!

15/365 - Packin' It In!

We spent the night doing laundry and packing for for our trip to stay with my dad in Illinois.  I hate packing!  I know I packed way more than I need, but I want to make sure I have everything I want.

14/365 - Wax on, Wax off...

With the cold dry weather, it is time to dig out the hot wax machine to give my hands a little dip!

12/365 - My Most Prized Possession

Lonni, Shay, and Sarita ....remember possession is 9/10ths of the law!

11/365 - Lights, Camera, Action!

On the way home from Daniel's parents house, I didn't really know what to take a picture of today.  I thought I would try the old fireworks setting (thanks for the idea Lonni) and see what would turn out.

This is what it looked like when we were sitting at the stoplight waiting for it to turn green!  Pretty cool effect.  I will have to play with the settings more.

10/365 - Where is the Garden?

You can't even see the garden right now.  It is buried under almost 2 feet of snow.  The little two foot fence is barely peeking out from the snow.  Hopefully, it will mean great soil in the spring and summer for my vegetables.

9/365 - Rocking the Bedhead

I didn't really put much thought into pictures today.  I haven't been feeling well, so this is what you get!

When I woke up this morning and sat up in bed, my hair was it's usual craziness.  I am not sure why my hair gets all up like a bird's nest while I sleep, but it makes for some crazy hair dos when I wake up.

Today it was all in my face, I looked more like Cousin It from the Adams Family!  The back was in the usually ratty style!

For a bonus picture, tonight when we were laying in bed watching Chuck, Sophie was curled at the foot of the bed, looking so cute, I had to snap a picture of her.  I am one of those crazy dog people I think!

How cute is she all curled up on the blanket, I love how her little legs are curled under her face!  How sweet!

8/365 - A Simple Cup of Coffee

Woo hoo, it's the weekend!  Nothing kicks off a weekend better then stopping at Starbucks for coffee...hot, cold, or in between, it doesn't matter.  Since it is so cold today, I bought a Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha.  Yummy!

7/365 - Fit for a Queen

Bella had been restricted from the bed since Shay moved out.  When Shay came home to visit, she let Bella back up on the bed.  Now she thinks that it is all hers.

She was so cozy laying there taking up half the queen sized bed.  Poor little B!

6/365 - Ice Ice Baby!

Being the great girlfriend that I am, I stood inside and scraped the ice off the window so I could take a picture of Daniel shoveling.

We are having another round of snow here in Fargo.  Spring where are you???

5/365 - The Bestest Dog Ever

We don't know where he came from or why he is loved so much, but "Joey" has been around since my nephew Caid was little.  When Caid started to walk, he would stumble around trying to carry the ceramic dog he named Joey all over the house.

Joey has scratches and nicks but after several drops and collisions with the floor, but he is still in one piece.

Caid, Camden and Chloe have all played with Joey and I am sure that Carson will too!

4/365 - Who *LOVES* treats?

Rafferty loves himself some treats.  I was trying to get him to sit and look at the camera to take a picture of him for today's photo.  He jumped, barked and did one of his tricks (I say bang, and he lays down like he was shot).  But I couldn't get a good picture of  him just sitting looking pretty for the camera.

This is the first picture I took and I just love the action, it is so Tatters, he loves his treats!

3/365 - If you drop it, she will find it

Sophie is a little scavenger.  If you drop something, she will find it, no matter what it is and she will do it quickly!  When I was getting ready for bed tonight, Sophie was scrounging in the bathroom and came up with her prize.  She was so proud!

After I took it away from her, she sat by the doorknob, wishing the door open, she wasn't having any more fun!

2/365 - Waggy Tails for all

One of Chloe's favorite things to do, besides play Barbies when she comes to Fargo, is to go to the Waggy Tails dog bakery and pick out cookies for all the dogs, even Mitch back in Montana so he won't be sad.

When we were taking them out of the box to give them to the dogs, Bella sat and looked all sad eyed waiting, hoping for us to drop them all in her direction.

If you are ever in Fargo, we highly recommend the Waggy Tails Bakery.

1/365 - Introducing a New Generation to Bugs

I am joining my sister and doing a project 365.  I will take at least one photo and post it here on my project 365 blog.  I am not a professional, I have a little Nikon Coolpix P4, 8.1 megapixels.  I won't be posting any photo specs or whatever you want to call them, as I know nothing about taking great photos, but I will take photos.  It will be interesting to see where it leads in 365 days!  Join us, you can start at any time!

Growing up, one of the memories I have is watching Hotel Balderdash and the Looney Tunes cartoons every morning before school.  One year they even came to our fair and put on a show.  I don't recall the name of either one of the male hosts, but I remember the many characters of the cartoons, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweetie and Sylvester, Elmer Fudd, Wylie E Coyote, Road Runner and Porky Pig just to name a few.

Today, on this first day of January 2010, they ran a marathon of Looney Tunes cartoons on Cartoon Network.  My niece Chloe and nephew Camden laid on the bed with Daniel and I for part of the day and watched some classic cartoons.  Nothing beats a good laugh and family to start the new year.
